Speech- Mrs. Little

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Little

Thanksgiving is almost upon us so I thought I would update everyone on what has been happening in the speech room.  If your child receives articulation therapy at school, they should have a speech folder that goes home weekly with specific homework practice.  They receive extra stickers when the homework is completed. If you haven’t seen it, ask them about it or contact me at school, n.little@schoolofwestfield.org.

We focused on a few books in the fall, “There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves” by Lucille Calandro, and “Apples and Pumpkins” by Anne Rockwell.  While reading the stories, we focus on many of the students’ objectives which include vocabulary development, comprehension, sequencing, and following directions.  Here is a look at our bulletin board from the fall.

All the students come to the speech room and read our welcome board, which has the date, and fun facts about specific topics that are chosen each week.  They answer a related yes/no question, and then read the joke of the week. Make sure to ask them about the new facts that they learn about, or the joke of the week, when they have attended a session.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to give me a call at the school or email me at n.little@schoolsofwestfield.org.

It is such a pleasure working with all of you children!!
